The woods used in the bowls
|
|
Spalted Beech, is beechwood that is partially rotted away by fungal attack. Usually the porcelain fungus,
a beautiful mushroom that is edible, but with no real flavour. Sycamore is a very common tree. It
is a very good wood for woodturners to use, it finishes well. Mahogany, most of Peters mahogany pieces
come from recycled pieces that were once doors or frames or furniture that people throw out. Ash is
another common tree that is good for turning.
